Dogsthorpe Academy

Sports Premium

Sports Premium is the introduction of extra funding to improve the provision of physical education (PE) and sport in primary schools in England.

This funding – provided jointly by the Departments for Education, Health and Culture, Media and Sport – is allocated to primary school headteachers. The funding is ring-fenced and therefore can only be spent on provision of PE and sport in schools. The Sports Premium funding for the 2017/18  has  recently doubled, compared to that provided in the previous academic year, meaning that as an academy with more than 17 eligible pupils we recieve £16,000 and an additional payment of £10 per pupil.
