As a school, we aim to enrich the lives of our children by providing them with the skills and opportunities to apply their learning within and beyond the curriculum. Through PSHE, we believe we can enhance children’s education and help them become caring, respectful and confident individuals.
The JIGSAW scheme aims to prepare young people for life. Please refer to the 'Jigsaw Information Leaflet for Parents and Carers' for more detail about what the scheme provides for our pupils.
PSHE and Ofsted
It has been highlighted that schools are vital in developing pupils’ health and wellbeing and will be monitored about their provision to support healthier eating, physical activity and to shape healthy habits among young people. Ofsted will evaluate a school’s success in promoting and supporting pupils’ knowledge of how to keep themselves healthy, including through exercising and healthy eating. Inspectors expect to see pupils making informed choices about eating and physical activity and they will assess the school’s culture in terms of promoting this aspect of pupils’ welfare. Inspectors’ will also make judgements on pupils’ personal development, behaviour and welfare.
